The Republic of Kosovo is committed to the Sustainable Development Goals and has contributed much to setting this new global agenda.
Its commitment began with extensive public consultations conducted with the support of the United Nations from 2012 to 2015, continued with an ambitious plan for the integration and implementation of the global goals, in line with the "National Development Strategy 2016- 2021/PLAN for Sustainable Development", (hyperlink to:) the "Stabilization and Association Agreement”, and the "European Reform Agenda", and it culminated in January 2018, with the formal endorsement by the parliament of Kosovo of the Resolution on the SDGs
The SDGs provide Kosovo with a direct connection to the most important global process of the 21st century and a space to tailor its development efforts with this new universal standard for development that will ensure that no one is left behind.
With the endorsing of the Resolution on SDGs, the Republic of Kosovo continues to integrate the goals in its strategic planning process to reach the preconditions of membership in European Union.
